About a month ago, savannah had been sneakily browsing Petfinder when she found this little hunk named Albert and was head over heels.
Although our lease said no pets, she instantly fell in love with that little face and wanted to bring him home. After almost a month went by, she just couldn’t stand it anymore and Brandon called the landlord to ask if we could have a dog. He agreed and savannah was headed south. Luckily, Rebekah and Emily were in town, and are super nice, so they went with her (since Brandon couldn’t miss all afternoon of work). After about four hours of LA and San Diego rush hour/Comic-con traffic, they finally arrived at his foster mom’s house in La Mesa. She is a tiny little Australian lady and has been rescuing doggies for 26 years. She said Albert was a busy boy, but we prefer to just say he has lots of puppy energy.
Emily was the first to spot Albert walking down the driveway and couldn’t contain her excitement about how precious he was. savannah walked him on the leash for a minute and then picked him up. When he put his arms around her and hugged her similar to how Muff used to hug, it was a done deal–she wasn’t leaving without this doggie.
After some stories, kisses, smiles and goodbyes to his foster mom, savannah, Rebekah and Emily were on the way home with a new doggie–Albert (and his green shorts-wearing monkey)!
Albert was found in the desert and taken to the animal shelter in El Cajon, CA when he was about 5 1/2 months old. He was rescued from the pound and crossed the border into Mexico to be neutered (maybe he has a passport somewhere, but we haven’t seen it yet ;). Then he made his way from one rescuer to the lady we got him from in La Mesa. He’d been living with her for almost two months and going to adoption fairs at the Santee Petco every Saturday and Sunday. We can’t believe this precious little guy hadn’t already been snatched up–he was just waiting for us. Oh–he was born on our wedding day–definitely a sign that it was meant to be. Albert is now 8 months old and weighs 20 lbs. We think he’s a Westie mix.
They stopped at PetSmart to get him a crate and some food and then for In-and-Out and Albert patiently waited while they ate. He slept in the floorboard the whole ride home. When they arrived back in Burbank after 11 pm, Brandon finally got to meet Albert. We all played for a while and then headed to bed, very happy and very tired.
Since then, Albert has made himself quite at home. He loves watching himself in the mirror, enjoys interning at rad owl LLC, sleeping belly up and going for lots and lots of walks. :)
Now, please excuse us while we post entirely too many photos of our four-legged child.
Oh and his little description on Petfinder is just perfect–
Albert is a wonderful boy, friendly and loving.

He is absolutely ADORABLE and certainly looks like he fits in so comfortably with his ADORABLE PARENTS!! Congratulations on a “pet finding mission” WELL DONE! I love you both!(and maybe all three)
