French press coffee undoubtably tastes better, but it’s also requires more attention to brew and cleanup. After realizing we wouldn’t find more iced blend coffee to brew until next summer, we decided to bite the bullet and try to cold brew regular coffee in a french press. Guys–we can’t believe we didn’t know about this…
tropical matcha green tea mix
savannah loves sweet tea AND tropical fruit, so naturally when she saw this tropical matcha green tea mix at Trader Joe’s, there was no convincing her that she didn’t need it. Ladies and gents, it is one of the best $4-ish purchases of the summer (this and Albert’s rope toy are probably neck-and-neck). It’s SUPER…
baked green beans
As we were cooking these green beans again last night (with fresh beans from the farmers’ market Saturday), we realized we haven’t shared them on the blog–and they’re our favorite! The roasted chicken (we used breasts) with mustard thyme sauce with fingerling potatoes and green beans was super delicious. We say that a lot, don’t we? Again, an easy way to add a little interest to some classics. Chicken recipe Potatoes and green beans recipe
owl cake
Sometimes you just need to make a cake so you can take photos of it–and eat it, of course. Yay cake, cute cake stand and owls!

Part of the series of tacos in the June Cooking Light. Would eat again (we did). Huevos Rancheros Tacos recipe
rachel ray’s “thai it” pasta
When we were at the airport going home for graduation, we snagged a copy of Rachael Ray’s June 2013 magazine… partially because we had heard Kate Bingaman Burt had some illustrations inside and partially just because we wanted to try some new recipes. So we made the “Thai It” Chicken Noodles with Lettuce, Chilies and…
