Cheesy first day photo, of course.

I was grinning like a little kid before my first day back at Disney. Walking into the studio and sitting at my desk – with my own name plate! – was a definite “pinch me” moment. All the people I knew from the summer were excited to see me back. I’m the first assistant Technical Director (ATD) to be assigned to the 2014 film, so most of the people already on the show were glad to assure me that they would have plenty of work for me to do.

I made sure to grab some breakfast at the cereal bar (free cereal 24/7) before my first new-crew training session, and I joined some of the other TDs for lunch at the ABC building commissary across the lot. Most of this first week will be training and acclimation, but since I was here this summer I think I’ll be able to get started on real work pretty quickly. Working on a feature animated film is a dream I’ve had for a long time, and I’m super excited.
